Coding S2-S3

Scratch is an application from MIT which combines the use of drag and drop visual coding blocks with the potential to create more open ended and creative digital products eg animations.

Scratch is also a collaborative online global community. With Scratch, students can program their own interactive stories, games, and animations and then share those projects with others in the online community.

View this video Teaching Kids to think using Scratch from Chris Betcher which provides an introduction to why SCRATCH is a great way to introduce kids to coding.

Scratch requires a laptop computer or device that is Flash compatible. If you only have access to iPads , Scratch Jr and Pyonkee are two apps  which students can use to have a learning experience similar to Scratch.
